WHAT HAPPENS NEXT...

Straight into the actual situation of the Religious Congregations of Canada, there is the question of the leadership and governance of institutes.  Who will ensure the animation, direction and management of the communities, their homes and their works? 

Our Executive Director, Fr. Alain Ambeault, csv, accompanied by Sr. Bonnie MacLellan, csj, is in Rome this week to discuss these issues with representatives of the English-language national Religious Conferences, as well as with the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

A MOTHERHOUSE LAND WILL BECOME A NEW NEIGHBOURHOOD

The land occupied by the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Sainte-Anne since the beginning of the 20th century will become a new neighbourhood in the borough of Lachine, in Montreal.

"RELIGIOUS ORDER MUST HANDLE THEIR ASSETS WITH CARE"

There is a "need to act with great prudence and attention and also to create institutional structures of accompaniment to help less well-equipped communities".  This is a part of the Pope's message to the participants of an international conference held last May in Rome. The gathering was dedicated to discussing ways to protect, evaluate and manage the cultural heritage of communities of consecrated life.
