| AECQ - CRC ANNUAL MEETING | ||||||||

On Monday, November 7, we were pleased to welcome Bishops from the province of Quebec to the CRC offices. The importance of maintaining close relations between our religious conference and the Bishops of the country is expressed in an annual meeting of members of the board of directors of our conference and some of the Bishops. The meeting with the Canadian Bishops normally takes place in the winter and the meeting with the executive of the Quebec Bishops in the fall. |

After more than 20 years of faithful action for social and ecological justice under the wing of the United Church of Canada (UCC), KAIROS Canada is taking the exciting step of restructuring to become a stand-alone organization with its own charitable status. We will remain a joint ecumenical venture supported by our member denominations and religious organizations but we are maturing and ready to take greater responsibility of our own administration. Since 1953, on November 21st (the Memorial of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary in the Temple), the Church celebrate World Day of Cloistered Life, an ecclesial event for all Catholics worldwide to commemorate the hidden lives of contemplative religious in cloisters and monasteries. |

| THE UNIQUE JOURNEY OF A MI'KMAW WHO BECAME A NUN AND RECIPIENT OF THE ORDER OF CANADA | ||||||||

Despite her history of residential schooling, Sister Dorothy Moore, a Mi'kmaw from Membertou First Nation, wanted to work with her people by joining the Catholic Church and becoming a Nun. The collection of lectures, presentations, prayers and ceremonies of this human rights activist and Mi'kmaq language and culture warrior has just been published. |

| THE COP 15, IN MONTRÉAL, NEXT MONTH | ||||||||

Joint Ecological Ministry has prepared a letter to the Canadian Federal Minister for the Environment and Climate Change calling for measures to protect and promote biodiversity. The letter will be sent to the Minister ahead of the upcoming UN Conference on Biodiversity taking place in Montreal from December 7 to 19. Catholic congregations of men and women religious are invited to endorse the letter by November 21. Learn more |
