On April 4, 2016, Mr. Jean-Michel Bigou joined the CRC staff as Communications Coordinator. After six years of valuable collaboration, he is leaving us and returning to live in France. On behalf of all CRC members, the Administrative Council and colleagues, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to Jean-Michel.
During these years, Jean-Michel has combined skills, availability and an obvious interest for the CRC's mission and the service offered to its members. We will remember him as a loyal collaborator and a "bon vivant". We hope that the continuation of his career in France will offer him new and interesting opportunities!
In view of Jean-Michel's departure, we started a recruitment process last January. After several weeks of searching, not without difficulty, we are pleased to announce the upcoming arrival of Mr. Yves Deschênes as Executive Assistant, Communications.
Originally from Quebec City, Mr. Deschênes is well acquainted with the Catholic networks in Quebec and Canada. After completing his university studies in public communications, he spent most of his career working for the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin in Montreal.
His professional career has allowed him to acquire many skills in communications: writing, editing, media relations, animation and organization of events or conferences, public relations and representation. For more than 15 years, he sat on the executive committees of various associations of catholic media and shrines in Quebec.
Prior to joining the CRC staff, he was the Communications and Fundraising Coordinator at Jesuit Refugee Service - Canada since February 2020.
Mr. Deschênes will assume his new position on Monday, May 30.
