What you will accomplish as a Senior Engineer
Lead complex 3D designs of interdependent aircraft interior furnishings and/or integrated systems. Ensures technical consistency and definition quality to internal and external customers. Must demonstrate the ability to advocate technical excellence internally and externally to sustain technical credibility.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
(Identify functions affecting the airworthiness of the aircraft by using the prefix “CRITICAL”)
CRITICAL -- Design and document aircraft interior components and installations. Design duties will include concept studies (human factor, aesthetics, flow reduction, strength to weight ratio, etc.) vendor contacts, and cost studies leading to production design. Should be self-sufficient requiring minimal supervision.
CRITICAL –Focal point for new materials, hardware, and process specifications utilized in the aerospace industry.
CRITICAL -- Responsible for ensuring technical consistency and definition quality for the full aircraft definition
CRITICAL – Proven to display creative and mature judgment in anticipating and solving technical issues.
CRITICAL -- Resolve all production related issues.
Focal point on major projects, such as weight savings, flow reduction, and customer-specific exotic designs. Should consistently produce a high quality design at the peer check level
Mentor employees with less experience
Accept additional assignments/ projects as directed by supervision.
Proven to master the ability to communicate effectively.
Ensure that Company procedures and processes are followed.
Demonstrate the ability to fill in as team lead
Required competencies and qualifications :
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must meet all qualifications of an Engineer II (grade 18)
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering. Lesser educational background with relevant experience will be considered*.
Minimum of 9 years of experience in aircraft interiors or furnishings design
Must be able to climb into various areas of the aircraft being completed and throughout the facility with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum of 12000 hours of design
*2 years of aircraft design experience may be substituted for 1 year towards degree requirement
4 years of non-aircraft design experience may be substituted for 1 year towards degree requirement

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient with FAR part 25 requirements for completions engineering
Proficient with EASA requirements for completions engineering
Overall grade of Exceeds on previous evaluation
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must have good eye/hand coordination and must be able to work at computer terminal/screen for long periods of time. Must not be sensitive to noise (rivets being bucked, aircraft engines, etc.).
